Single-Axis Motion
C o n t ro l l e r.
The MintDrive™ integrates a powerful motion controller and a brushless AC
servo into a single compact package including a power supply.
The MintDrive integrates the key functions of motion controller into a single,
easy to program, standalone package. Motion control, I/O handling, serial
communications, machine level networking and optional operator panel work
together under the control of a MINT™ application program which is stored
within the drive.
Positional Moves
Absolute & Relative move types allow high speed
point to point motion on one or all axes.
Speed, Acceleration & Deceleration can be defined
for each move type.
Tr a p e z o i d a l p rofiled moves provide the fastest point
to point move but exert the maximum jerk and shock
on a system.
S - r a m p p rofiled moves provide a more smooth
velocity profile that prolongs the life of machine
m e c h a n i c s .
C o n t o u r i n g allows a stream of point to point moves
to be blended together into a continuous and smooth
m o t i o n .
M a s t e r / F o l l o w e r
E l e c t ronic Cam replaces the traditional mechanical
cam with a servo motor and software pro g r a m m a b l e
cam profile. MintDrive features a second encoder
input for use as a Master to the cam.
E l e c t ronic Gearbox & Clutch enables two motor
shafts to be linked together in precise synchro n i z a t i o n
with a software programmable gear ratio. The
MintDrive features a second encoder input for use as
the Master to the gearbox.
Flying Shear allows operations to be performed at
regular intervals on a continuously moving web.
Acceleration, synchronization and re t u rn stroke are
linked by software to the movement of the pro d u c t .
The MintDrive supports flying sheer by synchro n i z i n g
it's servo axis to an external material feed axis.

The MintDrive is programmed in Baldor's easy to use MINT language. MINT supports a wide range of motion
and control functions which are outlined below and described more fully in the beginning of this section.
